Marion County’s unemployment rate remained the same in July at 10.2 percent. The Indianapolis-MSA rate dropped slightly from 9.3 percent in June to 9.2 percent in July.

Carson, Ivy Tech Central Indiana Job Fair
INDIANAPOLIS – Attempting to help connect employers from across the area with hardworking jobseekers, Congressman André Carson today announced that he is hosting a job fair in cooperation with Ivy Tech Community College.
The event will take place Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at IUPUI’s Campus Center in downtown Indianapolis.

LISC Receives Grant from Social Innovation Fund
The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) was awarded $4.2 million under the Obama Administration's groundbreaking Social Innovation Fund (SIF) to extend the reach of LISC Centers for Working Families in Indianapolis and eight other urban areas to help low- and moderate-income families realize lasting economic stability. Centers For Working Families are neighborhood-based, one-stop resource centers to help the working poor develop, grow and protect their assets.
